Stark Raving Mad

ALSO CHECK OUT - How I Murdered Myself

There are some of these small films that one wonders where they came from and where they went!

Why aren't they more known?

They are in their little film heaven somewhere among the ever growing pile of unknown and lost movies cursing their kismet and wondering why they weren’t marketed well or released properly.

This is one of those little gems that need to be discovered.

Once again this is a limited budget, limited location, limited characters film that is unlimited in ideas, imagination and crazy scenes and characters piled on top of each other to make one humongously entertaining, trippy film.

It’s completely set in a nightclub and it’s backarea/ backroom/bankvault. So in a way the setting is quite new and that adds a different look to it.

The story is that a bad ass mob boss wants the protagonist (Ben/Seann William Scott) to pay up what his deceased brother owed to him. Ben has to pay up or he too will be joining his deceased brother before the night is out. Time is running out and he has to do this one job for the mob boss.

So Ben gathers his crew, his pal Rikki and three others to pull off the robbing of a bank vault that happens to share a wall with a nightclub.

Ben plans to enter the bank vault through the nightclub wall

at night when the music is deafeningly loud. The loud music will cover his breaking of the wall and prevent the bank alarms from going off.

The nightclub opens for business, but everything that can go wrong starts to go wrong for Ben… The music isn’t loud enough, the nightclub owner gets cold feet about the music he thinks is too loud, and then there is this Chinese food delivery guy walks in on the robbery, and there is a cop sniffing around looking for his daughter in the young crowd suspecting that she is hooking up with someone shady in the nightclub. All these separate tracks collide and get enmeshed leading to a twisted climax. In short, this is a crazy movie, absolutely nuts, hence the title start raving mad.

Seann William Scott is superb in this and carries the movie on his shoulders. And I believe this actor has depth as can be seen in another movie that he did which I will share later.

So if you like heist/robbery movies, watch this for the twists and turns, and the absolutely crazy scenes and loony characters! This is as quirky as they come. And I hope a film like this gets its due and more and more people watch it, love it and recommended it.

So watch it. You would be stark raving mad not to!
