In The Loop

So, is this is how the government works? Is this how wars are manufactured?

The film follows the British Minister of International Development (Simon) after he, without much thinking (as politicians are prone to do), unintentionally announces that war is unforeseeable.

The Prime Minister's Director of Communications scolds the Simon and tells him to support the war as both the US and UK want the war to happen.

So Simon changes his stand (once again, as politicians are prone to do) and contradicts his early statement by saying to the reporters that the government is prepared to "climb the mountain of conflict."

And suddenly he is in the news everywhere and has a lot of new friends!

And he is invited to the US to do what, even he doesn't know. He's confused about what he is doing and what he is supposed to do.

'In The Loop' is a slight spin-off of the British comedy 'The Thick of It',

It could have been a serious political film.

It could have been a thriller, but is intentionally turned into a comedy. British humour at its best. They sure know how to laugh at themselves, and make others laugh too.

The script is sharp and moves at a brisk pace. The dialogues are witty and come at you thick and fast so much so that you may need subtitles to 'get it' fully. watch it. All the characters do a super job in keeping this film look real and as if what we are seeing is really happening.
