It's about these two conmen, thieves, slackers
who have no morals or sense of right or wrong. They just want to exist, living
each day as it comes. To get some additional money they give a part of
their home on rent to a mother and her son.
The woman that they rent it out to is desperate
to earn some money for her son and herself, but as money is hard to come by she
even offers to sleep with the two guys in lieu of the rent. Of course they
refuse, but we feel mighty sad for her and so do the two guys.
But finally depression gets the better of her
and she kills herself leaving behind her little son alone, without anyone to
look after him. What will happen to him?
The two debate on what to do and their heart
melts, they have no other option but to take care of the little child
themselves, while hiding from him that his mother is dead.
And as they take on the additional
responsibility of becoming parents to the orphaned boy, they fight with each
other, with own selves and start
to discover the serious, more mature side of life.
Slowly they become responsible adults and begin
to change for the better. From pure garbage they are recycled into something
much more usable… But for how long can they keep the kid with them? That is the
big question…
This begins as a comedy but slowly transforms
into a highly emotional film as the audiences are drawn into their lives and
start to feel for the little boy, and hence start to empathize with them too.
Soon the two slackers redeem themselves by their
actions. And the ending is beautiful and positive. Sniff, sniff, I almost
cried! Two guys who can't even keep fish are taking care of a child! They are his role models. Are they going to teach him how to live like them, like thieves, conmen? Or do they want a better future for him?
A Bag Of Hammers is a bag of emotions.
What a wonderful story. And what an unknown film!
Watch this, but keep your hankies on standby, just in case.
